A native of Garwolin, Poland, Magdalena O’Neill has been the Orchestra Personnel Manager for the San Diego Symphony since 2008, having previously served as the Manager of Artistic Planning for the orchestra. Ms. O’Neill earned her high school diploma from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and studied violin performance at the University of Houston, having also completed coursework at the University of Glasgow’s Divinity department. She earned her MA in Arts Administration and MBA at Southern Methodist University. A highlight of her time with the SDSO includes the 2013 Friendship Tour, which took the orchestra to Carnegie Hall and China (Shanghai, Beijing and Yantai). In 2014 Ms. O’Neill organized the annual Orchestra Personnel Managers Conference, hosting Orchestra Personnel Managers from across the US and Canada, right here at the Jacobs Music Center. Ms. O’Neill and her husband enjoy raising their three children in San Diego, which is conveniently located only 90 miles from Disneyland.
