Assistant Orchestra Personnel Manager Victoria J. Moore

Assistant Orchestra Personnel Manager Victoria J. Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from Case Western Reserve University, a Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law, and an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Prior to joining the staff of the San Diego Symphony, Ms. Moore was the Orchestra Personnel and Operations Manager of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra in Springfield, Illinois. She has also worked as a freelance violinist, performing with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra, the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and the Paducah Symphony Orchestra, among others. Ms. Moore has worked as a legal researcher and editor, focusing on International Criminal Law and International Human Rights Law. She was responsible for editing contributions to the Routledge Handbook of International Criminal Law and served as a research assistant to legal scholars M. Cherif Bassiouni, William Schabas and Nadia Bernaz. As part of her LL.M., Ms. Moore wrote a thesis titled “A Voice Lifted Up:” Musicians and Human Rights, which explored the connections between music and human rights law through the works of Beethoven, Bartók and Shostakovich. Ms. Moore enjoys reading, gardening, sailing, spending time with her dog and cat, working on Schradieck etudes and searching for the perfect vegan macaroni and cheese recipe.
