CENTENNIAL CONGRATULATIONS!

THE CENTENNIAL CAMPAIGN

This is your San Diego Symphony Orchestra!

Joan and Irwin Jacobs

Centennial Honorary Chairs

"Since we moved to San Diego in 1966, Joan and I have attended and greatly enjoyed performances by the San Diego Symphony, first in the Civic Theater and now in the beautiful Copley Symphony Hall with its wonderful acoustics.

Under Maestro Jahja Ling, the San Diego Symphony has become a truly outstanding ensemble, performing at a level comparable with the best that we encounter when visiting other parts of the world.

We are pleased that we have been able to support such notable progress in the orchestra’s first 100 years and look forward to enjoying both classical music and pops at a very high level as the San Diego Symphony enters its second century.

We are also proud of the musicians and staff for all of the support they provide to many cultural and educational activities around San Diego, most notably the San Diego Opera and the San Diego schools.

Please join us in ensuring the financial health of an organization that brings so much beauty to our lives.”

“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.”

Confucius, Chinese Philosopher, 551 BC-47BC

Campaign Co-chairs, Joyce Grosvenor and Warren Kessler "invite you to take a leadership role in support of the San Diego Symphony’s Centennial Campaign and help us secure the future of the magnificent gift, the San Diego Symphony."

With your help we can achieve our common goal, but first you must take up the baton and lead the way. We are all holding the baton. The future of Symphonic music is in our hands.

“To stop the flow of music would be like the stopping of time itself, incredible and inconceivable.”

Aaron Copland, American Composer, 1900-1990
