In celebration of composer John Adams’ 70th birthday

Peter Oundjian, Music Director of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since 2004, was appointed Music Director of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra in 2012. He has toured world-wide with both orchestras. Since 1981, he has been a visiting professor at the Yale School of Music, and was awarded the university’s Sanford Medal for distinguished service to music in 2013. He last conducted the SDSO in 2008, leading a program which featured Bartók’s Concerto for Orchestra.

Best conducting I've yet seen of SDSO. We are longtime former subscribers to the Chicago Symphony and have seen/heard some fine conductors. This one seemed to have the players at the top of their game, and they suddenly seemed like a first tier orchestra.
