The San Diego Symphony Orchestra celebrated its 100th year during the 2010-2011 concert season, making it the oldest arts organization in the State of California.
At the turn of this new century, the Orchestra’s Board of Directors, musicians and staff feel a heightened sense of responsibility to the future success of San Diego’s audiences, its donors and its community.
Regardless of the program, artistic excellence is the Symphony’s primary goal. The San Diego Symphony Orchestra’s mission is to present symphonic music at the highest level possible, as an accessible and inspirational art form through innovative programming and a strong commitment to arts education. To achieve excellence and sustain its music education programming, the Orchestra relies on charitable donations from the community.
