How to squeeze the most out of your summer
There’s nothing better than a night at Bayside Summer Nights – a beautiful sunset on the Bay, incredible live music by your favorite artists and the San Diego Symphony. It doesn’t take much to take your night at the Embarcadero Marina Park from good to great, but just a few tweaks and you’ll be on your way to living your best summer ever.
Pack a picnic
Whether you’re sitting on the lawn or at a cabaret table, there’s no better place to picnic than the Embarcadero Marina Park. Pack a picnic of your favorite dinner (yes, you can bring your own food in the venue!) or if you don’t have time to go to the store, there’s a selection of sandwiches, salads and appetizers available for purchase at the Embarcadero. New this season is the OMG Oreo Donut which features oreos, vanilla pudding and whipped cream layered between a glazed donut.
Leave the alcohol and glassware at home, however. Alcohol and glass are not allowed inside the venue, but all your favorite beer, wine and cocktails are available for purchase at concessions. Any concert will pair well with a little champagne, right?
Bring a blanket
The weather at the Embarcadero can be unexpected. Once the sun sets and the sea breeze floats in, it can get quite cool. Bring a blanket or light sweater to keep you comfortable all night long.
Plan your arrival
Sometimes arriving at your destination takes as much planning as the actual event you’re attending. To save on parking, consider taking a ride share or using the trolley. There’s designed drop-offs for your Uber or Lyft in front of the park and an MTS trolley stop is located just across the street from the convention center. It’s a short walk to the Embarcadero Marina Park from there – and an even shorter Bird scooter ride if you’re feeling adventurous.
The party doesn’t just start at 7:30 p.m. for Bayside Summer Nights – with gates opening at 6 p.m., we have live music on the lawn most concert nights and an opportunity to challenge your friends at a game of giant checkers, Jenga or corn hole. You’ll want to arrive with plenty of time to get your drinks, snacks and toss a few bean bags before the sun sets and the music swells.
