Coltrane X 2: Giant Steps + Blue Train in Concert*
For the first time ever, Jazz @ The Jacobs will feature two classic and iconic jazz albums, Giant Steps and Blue Train, played top to bottom, in one memorable evening – all in tribute to saxophone master John Coltrane. The evening will feature some of the most challenging tunes in the jazz repertoire, executed by a group of today’s most accomplished jazz musicians, hand-picked by series curator Gilbert Castellanos.
Come early for a pre-concert performance presented onstage at 7pm by students from the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory.
*The San Diego Symphony Orchestra does not appear in this concert.
