What are the Box Office hours at Embarcadero Marina Park South?
During the Bayside Summer Nights season, the Embarcadero Box Office is open from 12 noon through intermission of any concert day. Will call tickets for the evening's performance are available beginning at 5pm.
Yes. The Ticket Office can be e-mailed at firstname.lastname@example.org but e-mails are generally only answered during regular Ticket Office hours.
Can I buy Bayside Summer Nights tickets at the Jacobs Music Center Ticket Office?
Yes. The Jacobs Music Center Ticket Office is located at 750 B Street, NE corner of 7th and B in downtown San Diego;
Summer hours beginning June 3 are:
Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm
Saturdays: 12noon to 3pm (phone only)
Does the Bayside Summer Nights season offer subscriptions?
San Diego Symphony offers an attractive array of subscription options for Bayside Summer Nights. Traditional (Ultimate, Encore, Bravo, Thursday Night Jazz and Sunday Classical but not Choose Your Own) subscribers receive the best available seats and free ticket exchanges for Subscription Concerts (up to 24 hours in advance for another performance within your same series). Note: Traditional subscribers can also exchange to other Subscription Concerts for free, but not to Special Concerts. Choose Your Own subscribers have no continuing seat rights, and must pay $5 per ticket for all exchanges. Many other subscriber-only benefits apply. Can I reserve a Lawn seat in advance, even as a subscriber?
Lawn seating is strictly on a first-come, first served basis, and our gates always open at 5:30pm on concert nights. This applies to subscribers and single ticket buyers of lawn seats alike. The gates of the Bayside Summer Nights concert site open at 5:30pm on concert days. We do not supply blankets or chairs for the Lawn.
Does the Symphony offer Family Packs at Bayside Summer Nights? The Symphony now offers a variety of Family Packs depending on how many people are attending. Check with the Ticket Office at 619.235.0804 for more details, as Family Packs can only be purchased by phone or in person. Family Packs are good for Lawn seating only and availability is limited, particularly on Saturday nights. Family Packs are not available for Special Concerts.
Does the San Diego Symphony offer special Bayside Summer Nights senior or military pricing?
There is a general senior (age 60+) $3 discount for most seats at Embarcadero Marina Park South. Also, anyone with an active U.S. Military ID can receive the same discount. Senior and military discounts apply in the Grandstand, Cabaret I and Cabaret II sections. Senior discounts and military discounts do not apply in the Champagne or Premium Cabaret or Lawn sections. Discount is not available online.
Does the San Diego Symphony have special Bayside Summer Nights student pricing?
San Diego Symphony does not offer student standby tickets for Bayside Summer Nights, but we do offer a standard $3 student discount for most seats at Embarcadero Marina Park South. Student discounts apply in the Grandstand, Cabaret I and Cabaret II sections. Student discounts do not apply in the Champagne or Premium Cabaret or Lawn sections. Eligibility for this discount is at the discretion of the Ticket Office. Discount is not available online.
What is San Diego Symphony’s ticket exchange policy?
Ultimate, Bravo, Encore, Thursday Night Jazz and Sunday Subscribers may exchange tickets for free (anytime up to 48 hours before the performance) within their same series, based on ticket availability. Non-subscribers and “Choose Your Own” subscribers can do the same, with a $5 exchange fee per ticket. Exchanges for certain special sale promotions (such as 3 for $99) are not allowed at all. Tickets must be returned to the Ticket Office either in person, by mail or by fax (619.231.3848) no later than 48 hours in advance of your performance. Note: On-account credits generated by open-ended exchanges must be used within the current subscription series they were generated.
What happens if I lose my tickets?
San Diego Symphony concert tickets can be reprinted for $1 each at the box office with proper ID. Alternative: If you have the Symphony's app, and login with the same e-mail you used to buy your tickets, your barcodes will always appear inside the app two hours before concert time...no reprint needed!
Does the San Diego Symphony offer group sales discounts?
Discount tickets for groups are available for both subscription and non-subscription concerts for as few as 10 individuals in some cases. NOTE: certain popular Summer Pops concerts can have several group reservation requests, so our best advice is to reserve early. (Reservations can be taken beginning on the day of the Bayside Summer Nights schedule announcement.) For further information, please call 619.236.5403.
What is San Diego Symphony’s children’s policy at Bayside Summer Nights?
The San Diego Symphony requests that parents use discretion regarding the age-appropriateness of children attending a full-length Bayside Summer Nights concert. Babies one year of age and younger may sit on a parent’s lap. All other children must have a ticket. Should a child become disruptive during a concert, we ask that the parent discreetly escort the child away from the audience area (i.e. all the way back into the Food and Refreshment Plaza.) We greatly appreciate your consideration in this regard.
What happens if I have tickets I will be unable to use for an upcoming Bayside Summer Nights concert?
If you cannot use a ticket for an upcoming concert, we would very much appreciate it if you could donate that ticket back to the Ticket Office or box office (preferably several days in advance!) for a potential resale. You can also mail such a ticket to 1245 7th Ave., San Diego, CA 92101 (Attn: Ticket Office). Tickets should be turned in anytime up to 24 hours in advance of your concert. A receipt will be mailed acknowledging your tax-deductible contribution. (We would be unable to accept any tickets for tax deduction purposes after the concert has begun or passed.)

Can I bring in my own food to a Bayside Summer Nights concert? Are there food options available at the site?
You are more than welcome to bring your own food to Bayside Summer Nights. You may also pre-order a meal, at least 26 hours in advance, and you can pick it up onsite. (If you are sitting in the Champagne section, your pre-order will be delivered to your table.) Also, we have a variety of hot food options available in the Finest City Eats food pavilion, plus many dessert, wine and local beer options. Can I bring in my own alcoholic beverages to a Bayside Summer Nights concert?
Because we must follow strict guidelines set forth by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, we are not able to permit our patrons to bring in their own alcohol to the Embarcadero site. Only our Bayside Summer Nights beverage provider (not the Symphony itself) is legally licensed to sell and distribute alcoholic beverages on the site. Note: patrons are certainly allowed to bring in their own non-alcoholic beverages (such as sodas, water, orange juice) in SEALED cans or plastic bottles or thermoses, juice boxes, etc.
Can I bring my own glassware to Bayside Summer Nights concerts?
For the safety of all patrons on our green and grassy site, we ask that you leave glassware at home, and bring only unbreakable plastic wares. House management will enforce this requirement at their discretion.
Is there disabled parking?
Yes, there is limited disabled parking. More details can be found on the Parking Page.
Is there disabled seating and accommodation at Bayside Summer Nights?
Yes! ADA seating for both transfer and non-transfer wheelchairs, companion and semi-ambulatory as well as restrooms, are available at each performance, and can be purchased online or through the Ticket Office. Golf-type carts are also available when appropriate to access your seating. Please notify the Ticket Office in advance at 619.235.0804 for any special accommodation or assistance needs or questions.
May I take a picture of the Orchestra onstage at Bayside Summer Nights, or record part of a concert on my recorder?
Our camera policy has been adjusted as follows: Cameras will be allowed into the concert site, no check-in is required. Photography will be allowed on the site but flash photography is prohibited at all times! (This policy includes cell phone photography, digital audio/video, etc.) No audio or video capture of any other kind is permitted during performances without the express consent of San Diego Symphony management. The San Diego Symphony reserves the right to return to a more restrictive no-cameras policy at any point this season if we are not satisfied with the overall compliance to this relaxed policy.
Do all Bayside Summer Nights concerts have fireworks after?
All Friday and Saturday night Bayside Summer Nights concerts have a fireworks display scheduled at the end, except for film presentations. Thursday concerts do not. Sunday concerts will not feature a display, with the exception of the June 30 Padres Celebration and the September 1 Tchaikovsky Spectacular presentations.
Can I bring my folding chair for lawn seating?
Folding chairs are allowed in the lawn sections; however, patrons with taller chairs will be directed to the back part of the sections, and those with “medium-rise” chairs and blankets to the front. This way, patrons with just blankets can generally have unobstructed views of the stage. Please note: the Symphony does not provide blankets or folding chairs for rental.
If I'm sitting in the Bayside Lawn section, is it OK for me or my kids to sit on the rocks?
No, sorry. The potential for a slip or injury on such slick, irregular surfaces is significant. Our House Staff will actively discourage any patrons from sitting on the Bay-side rocks.
How should I dress for a Bayside Summer Nights performance?
Bayside Summer Nights concerts are given outdoors on San Diego Bay, so the temperature tends to drop after sundown, and the wind can pick up as well. Our advice is to dress comfortably, warmly and in layers.
What is the smoking policy at Embarcadero Marina Park South?
The Port of San Diego has designated Embarcadero Marina Park South as a Non-Smoking Area. This means that no lighted pipes, cigars and/or cigarettes are allowed in any part of the Park, and no such items may be disposed of in the Park except for in designated waste disposal containers.
Does parking ever sell out? What do I do then?
We always recommend pre-purchasing parking to avoid inconvenience. However, once pre-paid parking is sold out, it is likely there will be parking available the evening of the concert at the Convention Center Complex or (somewhat farther away but serviced by shuttle bus) the Bayfront Hilton parking structure. Occasionally, due to Convention Center and/or Petco Park activity, one or both of these alternate parking venues may sell out. There are multiple alternative transportation options listed on the Directions page, and the Symphony will sometimes arrange offsite parking for extremely heavy weekends, with details on the Parking page.
May I bring my dog into the Bayside Summer Nights concert site?
Because our site and concerts contain many sights and sounds to distract or upset even the best-behaved furry friends, we can only allow official service dogs or guide dogs to accompany patrons to Bayside Summer Nights concerts. We cannot make exceptions even for cages or leashes, sorry.
How do I purchase a CD recording of your guest artists?
It is difficult to predict if a given guest artist will bring CD's to sell, but if they are available, such recordings would be purchased in the Bayside Summer Nights Gift Shop kiosk. Guest artists will occasionally offer brief post-concert CD signings at the same location, so watch for signage. (Note: Summer Pops concert recordings with guest artists do not exist.)
Is it OK to talk during a Bayside Summer Nights concert?
In general, the outdoor sound environment of Bayside Summer Nights is a somewhat more active and forgiving than what you might find inside Copley Symphony Hall during a concert. That being said, you should assume that all of the patrons around you can hear you, especially while music is playing. Even talking in an undertone to your table-mates might be noticed by your neighbors who are concentrating on the concert. Please use your most considerate judgment, factoring the genre of music, sound level, etc.
What happens if I arrive late to my Bayside Summer Nights concert?
Latecomers to Bayside Summer Nights concerts will be seated at an appropriate interval in the concert as determined by the house manager. We ask that you remain in your ticketed seat until the concert has concluded. Should special circumstances exist or arise, please contact the nearest usher for assistance.
How can I learn more about the artists performing on a Bayside Summer Nights concert?
Full biographical information for all of our Bayside Summer Nights guest artists will be found on the Symphony website several weeks before a scheduled concert.
