The San Diego Children’s Choir not only celebrates the talents of kids in our community but also understands the importance of music in our lives. The Choir is open to girls and boys ages 4-18 from all racial, ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds. We maintain and continue to cultivate an organization where music is not only taught, but also revered for being a building tool for confidence and responsibility.

SDCC was founded in 1990 under the direction of Polly Campbell, a devoted music lover and educator until her passing in 2000. We began with a single branch and two choir levels and grew into five branches with four choir levels and over 250 participants. We also have a growing neighborhood outreach program that now spans City Heights, Imperial Beach and National City.

The Choir provides the youth of San Diego opportunities for artistic and personal growth through choral music performance. These young musicians focus on cultivating, blending and challenging their vocal abilities while being part of a proud group of choristers. The children are taught music theory, sight reading and tonal accuracy with consistent rehearsal schedules. Along with the many opportunities to sing within San Diego, the Choir has also shared our vocal stylings in Italy, Australia, England and other locales!

Our featured director, Michael Morgan, is an accomplished and passionate music educator who has been with SDCC for over three years. Mr. Morgan holds a degree in Music Education from Hampton University and continues to direct and conduct choir groups around the community. He has performed in many local and national organizations as well as served on the Board for the San Diego Master Chorale, Spreckels Organ Society and the African American Music Foundation.
