Seniors, Military (with ID) and Student (with ID) $3 off discounts are available via phone and window sales only (no web), and can be applied to most seats. These discounts are valid in the Grandstand, Cabaret I and Cabaret II sections at the Embarcadero. Family Packs and ongoing Corporate discounting offers must also be processed directly though the Ticket Office window and phones.

NOTE: Initial mailing of Summer Pops 2013 tickets will be after JUNE 10.

 

PLEASE NOTE FOR SYMPHONY HALL CONCERTS:

  • Photography and audio/video recording of any kind are not permitted in Symphony Hall's performance chamber.
  • Food and drink (plastic bottled water excepted) are not allowed inside the Symphony Hall performance chamber.
  • Absolute quiet during performance is the audience's critical role in a successful music concert. To maintain the greatest courtesy to your fellow concertgoers, please use maximum care in disabling all noisemaking devices in the performance chamber, including cell phones, pagers and malfunctioning hearing assistance devices. (Audiences of Family Festival concerts should be understanding of the natural restlessness of small children. Parents should welcome an opportunity to teach concert etiquette.)
  • Cell phone photography is strictly prohibited in the performance chamber and may result in temporary confiscation.
  • Please apply perfumes and colognes lightly in respect of others' possible allergies. 
  • All dates, programs, artists and pricing are subject to change.
  • All sales are final.

THE MAGIC OF MOZART
A Family Festival Concert

Precocious Mozart was one of the world’s most famous prodigies but what do we really know about him? Who influenced him and what is his legacy? This concert explores the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of one of the world’s most popular composers with some of the greatest music of all time. Concert includes music from The Magic Flute, The Marriage of Figaro and the Jupiter Symphony.

Artists, James Pillar ("Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart") has been delivering educational programming to elementary school students in San Diego about the life of Mozart and other composers since 2004, when he joined the education team at Mainly Mozart.  Currently, he is the Director of Conservatory at La Jolla Playhouse, and works as a Teaching Artist for The Old Globe, Mainly Mozart and Playwright’s Project. He holds a degree in Directing, Composition and Performance from Dartington College of Arts (UK).  Directing credits include: The Royal Shakespeare Company (summer projects), BBC Radio, British Film Institute, Alakazoo Children’s Theatre (London), and Traveling Lantern (San Diego).  He has also created and toured shows with groups with learning disabilities and physical handicaps.  Solo performance credits include: The ICA (London), Blue Coat Gallery (Liverpool), Green Room Theatre (Manchester), and at the Edinburgh Festival; as well as touring with the Barclays New Stages Award-winning Pants Performance Association throughout Europe.
