Canadian-born flutist Diana Morgan is an orchestral performer, educator and Wm. S. Haynes Artist based in San Diego, California. She is serving as Acting Third Flute/Piccolo with the San Diego Symphony for the 2026 summer season, returning to a position she previously held during the 2014–2015 and 2017–2018 seasons. Throughout her career, she has performed as principal flute, second flute, and third flute/piccolo with many of Southern California's leading ensembles, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Pacific Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, and the San Diego Symphony.
She has appeared at festivals including the Ojai Music Festival, Mainly Mozart, Arizona MusicFest, Artosphere Festival, Spoleto Festival USA, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and the National Academy Orchestra of Canada. In 2024, she toured Europe with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, performing in Paris, London, and Barcelona.
As founder and director of DM Flute Studio, Diana works with professional and pre-professional flutists and piccoloists throughout North America and internationally. She has adjudicated flute auditions for the Colburn Conservatory since 2010 and served as Executive Program Director for Jim Walker's Beyond the Masterclass at the Colburn School since 2011.
Diana holds a Graduate Certificate in Flute Performance from the University of Southern California and a Master of Music degree from Carnegie Mellon University. Her principal teachers include Jim Walker, Jeanne Baxtresser, Alberto Almarza, and Dr. Amy Hamilton.
When not performing or teaching, Diana Morgan enjoys spending time with her husband, percussionist Eduardo Meneses, and their two sons.
