Yeim Lee

Long Term Substitute Musician

Yeim Lee is an active concert violinist and passionate chamber musician. She performs regularly with the Sejong Soloists and has appeared in venues such as Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Seoul Arts Center. She has served as Concertmaster of both the Juilliard Orchestra and the Oberlin Orchestra, and she was a winner of the Oberlin Conservatory Concerto Competition.

An avid chamber musician, Yeim has participated in festivals including Yellow Barn, Music@Menlo’s International Program, Kneisel Hall, Taos School of Music and the Perlman Music Program’s Chamber Music Workshop. Her quartet, the Resi Quartet, was awarded the Silver Medal at the 2025 Coltman Chamber Music Competition. She has also collaborated with members of ensembles such as the Cleveland, Emerson, Brentano, Cavani, Juilliard, Pacifica, Belcea, Doric, Jerusalem and Takács string quartets.

Yeim holds an Artist Diploma from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where she studied with Paul Kantor; a Master of Music from The Juilliard School, studying with Laurie Smukler on full scholarship; and a Bachelor of Music from the Oberlin Conservatory, studying with David Bowlin.

Away from the violin, Yeim Lee enjoys spending time with her beloved Labrador, Bori, whose playful and communicative personality brings joy to her life.
