Greg Ochotorena

Greg Ochotorena V was appointed second trombone of the San Diego Symphony in 2026.

In 2017 Greg won a position with the Disneyland Band, where he regularly performs. In 2021 he began working with the Santa Monica Symphony, playing second trombone. Greg frequently appears as a guest performer with several orchestras up and down the California coast, including Los Angeles Sinfonietta, Los Angeles Dream Orchestra, Westside Chamber Orchestra, Stockton Symphony and many others. He was a long-term substitute in the San Diego Symphony's trombone section beginning Summer 2024.

Being a Los Angeles local, Greg received a master's degree from the University of Los Angeles, where he studied under the mentorship of renowned Los Angeles Philharmonic trombonist, James Miller.

When Greg is not playing trombone he enjoys cooking, spending time with his friends and camping with his wife Carrie and dog Ollie.
