PercussionEduardo Meneses
Eduardo Meneses, a native of Southern California, is honored to join the San Diego Symphony’s percussion section for the 2023-24 season. He has held the title of Principal Percussion with the Santa Barbara Symphony since 2008 and Acting Principal Timpani since 2022. From 2011-2013, he was a musician for Cirque du Soleil’s IRIS. As an active musician in Los Angeles, Mr. Meneses has performed with such artists as John Williams, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Andrea Bocelli and many others. He has appeared regularly and toured internationally with the Los Angeles Philharmonic since 2016. He can also be heard on Grammy®-winning albums and a number of soundtracks for major motion pictures.
At a more adventurous time in his life, Mr. Meneses studied improv and sketch comedy at The Second City in Hollywood, CA. He subsequently auditioned and was cast as a member of one of the theater’s most popular sketch teams, Penningsworth, joining them for a year and a half during their residency.
Eduardo Meneses holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University, both in music performance. Language fails to fully express his gratitude for his wife, Diana, his son, Owen, and all of the friends, family and mentors who have helped him become the person he is today.
