TrumpetMicah Wilkinson

A native of Norcross, Georgia, Micah Wilkinson has enjoyed a varied career as an orchestral musician, soloist, chamber artist and professor. He is currently the Principal Trumpet of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, a title he has held since the fall of 2014. In his first season with the SDSO, he was featured along with pianist Conrad Tao in Shostakovich's Concerto No. 1 for Piano, Trumpet and Orchestra. He previously held positions with the Houston Symphony, the San Francisco Symphony, the Oregon Symphony and the Tucson Symphony. Mr. Wilkinson is a proud graduate of St. Olaf College, and he pursued additional studies at Arizona State University and the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, Germany. His primary teachers include Martin Hodel, David Hickman, Larry Black and Anthony Plog. He lives in San Diego along with his wife Stefani, their beautiful daughters Eleanor and Amelia, and their goofy Basset Hound Barber.
